New Commercial Flight Record

A new commercial flight distance record has been set by Air Tahiti Nui when their Boeing 787-9 traveled from French Polynesia to Paris, France. The aircraft flew 9,765 miles non-stop beating the previous record of 9,534 miles held by Singapore Air. The total flight time was was just under 16 hours and is considered to be a domestic flight, also breaking the record of longest distance traveled domestically.

Could this be a new era of extreme distance commercial flights?
